The latest of Boutinot’s (occasional) Saturday morning fine dining tastings was recently held at Bistro du Vin Soho – where London’s fine dining sommelier’s were invited to taste 32 wines, some new to Boutinot, some new vintages and some just simply delicious. Highlights included:

  • Domaine du Monteillet ‘Grand Duc’ St Joseph Blanc 2010 (and where the entire UK allocation for 2012 was sold in half an hour!)
  • Campogiovanni Brunello di Montalcino 2006 - an absolutly delicious standout wine
  • Fromm’s (fantastic) Late Harvest Gewurztraminer – getting its first UK outing

A full complement of 22 sommeliers were in attendance and wines were tasted both individually and then with lunch as the day progressed. Opinions were shared, bottles and glasses drained … speaking of which, the Fernando de Castilla Antique Oloroso was an absolute delight. The photos say it all…
